175 years ago, on 15 September 1848, Friedrich Reck founded the company F. Reck & Co. in Bremen. It is the time of the great wave of emigration from Bremen and Bremerhaven to America and the company begins as an “equipment and provisioning business for ships and emigrants”.
In 1870, Reck & Co. takes on the first Marine Insurance business as agent for an insurer.
In 1878 Reck & Co. is appointed by the AIMU as correspondents, followed by the appointment as Lloyd’s Agent in 1891. Both reputable appointments are maintained until today.
Today we thrive with a dedicated team of 65 staff in Germany and Switzerland. We service our international client base with global claim services in the field of transportation, from surveys via claim handling and settling to recovery.
