Happy Christmas Holidays

Dear clients and business partners,

The COVID 19 pandemic has been at the forefront of our minds every day. This has been the case since the beginning of the 1st lockdown in spring this year. For many, however, the pandemic began to dominate their thoughts at an even earlier stage.

Aside from the severe restrictions it places on our private lives, and the deep anxiety it causes, the pandemic also brings about considerable changes to our working life, as well as clear economic consequences for most of us. The remaining long-term consequences of the pandemic cannot even be foreseen at this stage.

This burden and this deep sense of anxiety is therefore still omnipresent. However, despite all this, or perhaps even precisely because of all this, in this pre-Christmas period, we do not want to continue to act as we did before the outbreak of the pandemic. Instead, we would like to take the opportunity to remember that there are still many people on our planet who are less focused on the pandemic as we are.

This is not because climatic conditions could reduce the speed at which the pandemic spreads, because people live much less indoors anyway, and because far fewer people here even live long enough to reach the age of our risk groups. No, the reason here is because normal worries and problems of everyday survival are still greater than the threat of invisible COVID 19 infection.

In many countries, as we know from our daily dealings with commercial goods and international transport, there are entire villages where people still have no direct access to clean water and where water for domestic use has to be transported many kilometres in canisters and other containers. Here, even securing a pandemic-limiting normal hand wash with clean water and soap can be a problem for many people.

This year we have therefore decided to do without all Christmas events, greetings and presents and instead cover the costs of building a well for two of these places in Ghana.

With this gesture we would like to thank you all, our clients and business partners for the very positive way in which you have worked with us in this special year 2020. We also wish to thank you for the trust you have placed in us, for your understanding for the various changes to your working processes due to the number of colleagues who have had to work from home. Finally, we also want to thank you simply for having given us the kind word every now and again.  We therefore wish you and your loved ones a merry, but also peaceful Christmas, and relaxing holidays in your small groups of friends and loved ones. Above all, we also wish you joy, strength and good health for the coming year 2021.
